AMIENS Scenery
Amiens ?
Amiens is the capital of Picardie. French country at north of
Ile de France and at south of North ;-).
Internet, it's big : A little site for going to a walk in Amiens.
The scenery
I wrote this scenery because the runway was present in FS5,
but with nothing around...
With Europe 2. I've deleted all what was already in E2 for the
compatibility.
It's not ended, I use it to test FS-Bat which I wrote and allow to create buildings for Flight Simulator scenery.
The design
First, I began with BGLGEN and BGLCOMP. But pffff... it was hard !
Then, I've used AIRPORT to remake the scenery. First the 1."I forget the number but it was small" then the 1.23 and now the 2.02, without major problems.
For the standard buildings, I use the collection of objects in AIRPORT,
but for special buildings, I've used FS-Bat.
I win a lot of time with FS-Bat more than BGLCOMP, then SCASM.
Photos Album
Some photos :
Control tower of Amiens-Glisy.
The commercial center near Amiens-Glisy runway...
We can see a group of little houses, I didn't like the standard AIRPORT
APIs...
The "chateau d'eau" is in Airport.

The Perret Tower... to update, the up is too large.
At the right, the real tower photo...
It's just near the cathedral, that I must made...!
The Europe 2 Amiens Catehdral, is not very like the real.
Distribution
Amiens is a "freeware" scenery.
I distribute it with the sources (Airport, FS-Bat and Bmp). Because
when I began, I was very happy to find scenery with source to can
learn the design.
To download the scenery, click on the Download button at the top
of this page.
Evolution
Before, I use this scenery to test FS-Bat. I've made a lot of
building not ended (they're not in the zip).
I restart...
At the menu : the "Beffroi", the "Halles", the "Hotel de Ville",
the "Maison de la Culture", the "Coliseum", the "Cirque", the Museum,
the "rotonde SNCF" in Longueau, the Jules Verne bridge...
And also particular point : broadcasting station...
And then I will end the Amiens Cathedral to replace the Europe 2 cathedral. Big job.
Let's go.
